Emma Kriss Means was born August 30, 1911.  Departed this life April 28, 1945, making her age at time of death 33 years, 7 months and 28 days.  She was united in marriage to George Means March 8, 1938.  To this union four children were born, Carl and Carlita, June Marie and Junior, age 5 years.  The two former children have preceded her in death.  She was converted some six years ago and united with the Free Will Baptist church, in which she was an active Christian until her death.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, two children, four step-children, a daughter by a former marriage, Shirley Dotson, of St. Louis, a father, one brother in the Army, four aunts and one uncle, and many other relatives and friends.  Funeral services were held at the Freedom church, April 30, 1945, the Rev. Hogue officiating.  Interment following in the Freedom cemetery under direction of the Elliott Funeral Home.
