Rosia Etta Medlock

Rosia Etta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Snow, was born in Green county, Illinois, January 12, 1872, and died at her home near Raymondville June 23, 1940, making her age at time of death 68 years, 5 months and 11 days.

She was married to H. Spencer Medlock in August, 1891.  To this union were born nine children, five boys and four girls; four preceded her in death.  Those left to mourn their loss of wife and mother are:  the husband, H.S. Medlock, Raymondville, Mo.; children, Frank Medlock, of Yukon, Mo.; Earnest Medlock, Oelwein, Iowa; Mrs. Cora Benefiel, Yukon, Mo; Vernon Medlock, Raymondville, Mo.; Fred Medlock, Eunice, Mo., and Mrs. Mae Leatherman, Yukon, Mo.; 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe, Perry and John Snow, also remain to mourn their loss.

She was converted to the Christian religion at an early age and lived a faithful and consecrated life until her death.  She was a faithful wife and loving mother.  She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

"Sleep on, dear mother, take thy rest;  God called you home, for He knew best."

Loving hands of friends prepared her tired body for burial.  After a short service of song and prayer at the home, the body was taken to the Allen cemetery, where the remaining service of song, prayer and short message by the pastor of the Methodist church, O.C. Stapleton; and the body was laid to rest in the Medlock burial lot, there to await the resurrection morn.
