Harve E. Smallwood

Harve Everett Smallwood was born October 1, 1889, in Hardin County Kentucky.  He died at the Porter's Hospital, in Glenwood Springs, Colo., Tuesday, January 27, 1948, age 58 years, 3 months and 26 days.

In 1901 he moved with his parents to Texas County, where he grew to manhood.

On October 14, 1913 he was married to Grace Diedrich.  In March, 1936, he moved to Glenwood Springs, where he engaged in ranching.

His father preceded him in death in June, 1936.  Survivors include his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Evohn Hobbs, Glenwood Springs, Mrs. Margery Hinkle, of Minturn, Colo.; his mother of Houston, Mo.; two sisters, Nellie Johnson, of Searcy, Ark., Ollie Smallwood, of Raymondville, Mo., one brother, Thurman, of Houston, Mo.; four grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He had been in failing health for some time but on January 13 he became seriously ill and was taken to the hospital in Glenwood Springs.  On Jan. 20 he was rushed to a hospital in Grand Junctions, Colo., where it was found he was suffering from an incurable kidney infection.  He was then brought back to the Glenwood hospital and on Tuesday, January 27 he passed away.

Funeral services were conducted from Burdge Mortuary January 29, Rev. Henry Baker officiating.  Interment was in the Rosebud Cemetery.
